Mississippi Son is a summary statement by Musselwhite, after a storied career. A pivotal figure in the South Side Chicago blues scene of the 1960s, he is a master harp player, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. On this most recent studio album, he offers eight original songs along with covers of Charley Patton and Big Joe Williams. This is "front porch” blues at its best: by turns rowdy and nostalgic, but always soulful.

The Delta Blues Museum was established in 1979 by the Carnegie Public Library Board of Trustees and re-organized as a stand-alone museum in 1999, the Delta Blues Museum is Mississippi's oldest music museum and the nation's first museum dedicated to the American art form known as the Blues.
